Okay, so I was pugging heroic Gundrak with Redbud's warlock tonight and something happened that's made me incredibly upset.... more so than all the times I got ganked by level 80 rogues while leveling a PvP character in Stranglethorn. After downing the last boss of the instance, our tank (Megakin from Korialstrasz) waited until everyone else in the group had rolled on all the loot (including a frozen orb), and then rolled Need. On everything.

This isn't the first time this has happened to me with an orb, but it was so disrespectful for someone to ninja all the loot, especially on downgrades, that it made me mad.

Mad enough to want to do something about it.

So, here's my proposal: I know there are a few guildies who fancy themselves as code monkeys (myself included). Let's work together on an anti-ninja addon. These jerkfaces think they can hide in the anonymity of the pug finder. I bet we can turn the pug system against them.

Anyone else want to help?

I've actually already thought about that. I'm not sure if it could be done without referencing some type of external database though. I'd just like to know if someone has a history of needing orbs. damn loot biches....

In a pug, just tell everyone to roll need on the frozen orbs. Saves ninjas. It's the standard in some battlegroups already.

The changes to the "Need Before Greed" roll system in 3.3.3 should help curb most of this (although I suppose a plate wearer could still roll need on cloth gear if they wanted to be a jerkface).

I still want to write a pug addon, though. I'm thinking of something along the lines where you can keep track of who you've grouped with and add notes next to that person's entry... maybe throw up a warning if you mark that person as a problem or notify you when you're with someone who you enjoyed running with in the past.

I've been using Elitist Group for a while. Sounds like something you might be interested in. At the end of each run, a window will pop up allowing you to rate and comment on players in that group.
